This past week on October 19th, in East Lansing Michigan at Michigan State University, EDM DJ Steve Aoki
performed for over 7000 screaming Spartans. I was apart of the team that brought Steve Aoki to East Lansing. It was by far one of the craziest Dayglows I have been to. What made the night even more special was that Steve Aoki was deemed the number 15th best EDM DJ in the world. He celebrated the night away with 7000 of his closest friends.
Preparing for this show was just like any other rave, however, paint was a new factor that DJ, Steve Aoki was not familiar with. This was his first Dayglow and wont be his last. I had the pleasure of meeting Steve Aoki back stage. I am a big fan of EDM and was stoked to work with such a large artists. I was responsible for his rider for the night which required me to get all his alcohol and props for the show.
I love being in the music scene and this was just the correct opportunity further in that direction.
Here are some pictures snapped from Steve Aoki’s rider.

festivals. DJs have transformed from artist mixing tracks using vinyl records to having digital records. Instead of using the traditional vinyl record DJ system, many DJs have transferred into MIDI pads, controllers and CDJs. However, the classic vinyl record spinners are still around. For production purposes a DJ will use different software such as Ableton or Sarato and digital equipment that hook up to a computer to make a song before a performance. While in a performance setting, a DJ will mix in their own songs along with other artists songs in one continuous track with no pauses giving a party feel. These types of concerts are more of a big dance party rather then a concert, they are know as raves. If you have never been to an EDM rave I highly recommend in doing so. I have had some of my most pleasurable times at electronic events and have memories that will last a life time.
